Claude O’Hara joins Hants RDA as Executive Director

The Hants Regional Development Authority’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Claude O’Hara as Executive Director.

“We are pleased to have Claude join the Hants RDA and provide continued leadership for economic development in Hants County,” said John Bregante, Chair of the Hants RDA Board. Claude’s background and experience includes a twenty three-year career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) followed by the position as Senior Advisor to the President of Acadia University on Government and Community Relations. While serving as a member of the senior management team for one of Canada’s leading undergraduate universities, Claude was responsible for external relations, managing and building relationships with all levels of government, national and international business partnerships and general community affairs.

Claude believes that success can be achieved through a locally-empowered, results-based process and that for every problem there is a community based solution waiting to be discovered.  “Claude’s passion is his community” said John Bregante, “and we are very fortunate to have him join our organization.”

He begins work on May 3, 2011 and is looking forward to joining the Hants RDA organization.

O’Hara was selected by a Board Search Committee following a local and national search by Gerald Walsh Associates Inc., a professional services recruitment firm based in Halifax.
