The Avon Pony Club is part of the Nova Scotia Region of the Canadian Pony Club and serves the area near Winsdor but we also have members from other places like Halifax, Wolfville, and Newport.

Avon Valley Golf and Country Club was established in 1971 as a replacement for the old Windsor nine hole course. Play started in 1973 when 12 holes were opened. Since then it has grown to a challenging well groomed 18 hole golf course. Hilly terrain, prevailing winds and small greens, make accuracy a must for good scores. Major improvements started in 1996 and continuing for the next four years will enhance the challenge and enjoyment of an already beautiful course. Avon Valley is noted for its friendly staff and members, making visitors feel welcome. Canteen and bar facilities are on site. On Site rentals include clubs, Power and Pull Carts. Host of the popular Sam Slick Golf Tournament.
