Many of the region’s advanced manufacturing leaders are located in East Hants, with companies that have gained an international reputation for producing specialized building materials and prefabricated products. Atlantic Canada’s leaders in environmentally friendly paper production are concentrated in Hantsport, while the Windsor-Hantsport area is home to both life sciences activity and advanced manufacturing companies.
Our agricultural sector supports employment in the transportation and trade sectors and is widely dispersed throughout all regions of Hants County. The sector encompasses dairy and beef production, greenhouse activity, field and berry crops, and an increasing trend toward organic production.
Within the tourism sector, the Hants County region affords new business investor the chance to take advantage of a leading tourism attraction – the World’s Highest Tides, located along the region’s Fundy Shore.
